A: Lol. Damn. The point of torrenting this, is for those smarter people than YOU [graza82] to have access on the file (WMP11) that cannot be downloaded from Microsoft.com if they aren't gonna pass the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) for Windows Vista or Windows XP for that matter.

Needless to say (but it is positive that YOU [graza82] Need to read this ), YOU [graza82] won't be able to download this WMP11 from Microsoft.com if you're using pirated version of Windows.

Microsoft.com will have to ask you to pass the validation test. The only way to get around the validation is to use the Genuine copy of Windows or to get a crack or patch for the Windows Genuine Advantage plug-in.

Well, if you downloaded this file using this torrent (I hope you did).. I believe there is no validation required. Because you already got the .exe file of WMP11.

I installed using this .exe file. And it didn't ask for a validation.

Appreciate the up. I've been troubled with the latest influx of wvr movies lately and been unable to play any of them, much to my frustration.
I am hopeful that this upgrade will fix that problem.
Suppose I'll have to find a codec pack for it now.

Well there are 2 validations required. 1st one is before you can dload the file which requires a legit key. The 2nd one after opening the file, there appear 2 options, either Validate or Cancel. If you choose to validate, it will again check if your windows key is valid WITH matching if the key corresponds with the country/region where it was sold.

IF you think you can pass the 2nd validation(w/c I think many will fail) then you should go directly to microsoft's site. But if you can't pass the 2nd one, go to the torrent mentioned above- http://thepiratebay.ee/torrent/4750266/Windows_Media_Player_11_Validation_Hack_(wga_hack)

W/c basically means this torrent is useless, must be great for newbs and morons though. Saves them from doing some thinking w/c could cause their nose and ears to bleed. I downloaded this torrent and installed. Runs just fine... no problems at all.

I downloaded my XP SP3 from TPB about 2 years ago and i'm still problem free.

Here's a good version of it ur welcome to try... it was uploaded about 2 weeks ago, but is almost identical to mine.. this one is updated with SATA drivers.
